Welcome to 4A!

Hello Families! I hope you all enjoyed a restful summer break and are excited and eager to start this school year. I'd like to take a moment to introduce myself:

My name is Lauren Arnold and it is a privilege to work with your fourth graders this year. This is my third year that I have been fortunate enough to be apart of the Arete community, not only as a teacher, but also as a parent. Before my oldest started Kindergarten, I worried about finding a school that would not only give my children a great education, but that would also care about instilling virtue, shaping their character, and nurturing their souls. What a joy it was to find Great Hearts!

Born and raised in Kentucky, my family and I moved to Arizona four years ago. I hold a BA in Psychology from the University of Louisville. I have been married to my husband, Brian, for 12 years and we have a second grade son, Jameson, and a first grade daughter, Natalie. I worked as a fourth grade Assistant Teacher here at Arete for two years, and this past year I was fortunate enough to end the year as the Lead Teacher in 3A when Mrs. Valles stepped down to start her maternity leave.

I am very excited to see what this year holds as we learn and wonder together. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. My email address is LArnold@ArchwayArete.org.

Serving as the Assistant Teacher in 4A this year is Mrs. Baugh. Here is a note from her:

My name is Amanda Baugh, and this is my first year teaching at Great Hearts. I recently graduated from ASU with my BA in English, and am excited to pursue the Apprentice Teacher program here at Archway Arete.

My husband and I have been married for 7 years, and we have two little girls: Violet, who will be in first grade this year, and Mina, who is 14 months old. We love being in nature and exploring as a family!

I have a strong background in vocal performance and music, and have a deep love of poetry and the written word. I have taught for 3 years in the public schools, and am thrilled to be a part of the Great Hearts community as both a parent and educator. I am very much looking forward to getting to know your child, and am honored to play a part in cultivating within him/her a life-long love of all things that are good, beautiful and true. Cheers to a wonderful year of learning and growth!

Meet The Teacher Night is Thursday night from 3-7. There will be a uniform exchange, a fingerprint clinic, and a health table set up in the MPR. Just a reminder, you have to have fingerprint clearance to volunteer in the classroom.  We are looking forward to meeting you and your scholars at Meet The Teacher Night!
